Bengaluru: Borzo, a global intra-city courier delivery service, has partnered with insurance distribution platform Symbo India to provide medical insurance benefits to all its delivery partners. The partnership will benefit more than 50,000 gig delivery partners.

With the initiative, Borzo’s delivery partners will have easy access to health insurance plans, such as medical insurance of up to Rs 2 lakh starting at Rs. 19 per month. The delivery partners can avail of medical insurance policy by providing their Borzo ID.

“Large number of gig delivery partners are not aware of health-policies and also have limited access to health-funds. Hence, we have taken the initiative to partner with Symbo and facilitate health-insurance benefits for all the current and future partners on our platform,” said Saurabh Parmar, head of operations, Borzo, India.

This partnership will also enable Symbo to expand its B2B footprint and reach out to a growing network of gig delivery workers, estimated to be around 7.7 million, and increase to 23.5 million by 2029-30.

“The partnership with Borzo represents a crucial step in this direction, as it allows Symbo to promote embedded insurance and drive wider adoption by offering innovative insurance products,” said Mitesh Jain, chief technology officer of Symbo.

Founded in 2012, Borzo is a global delivery service that enables intracity same-day delivery. Its services are available in nine countries in Asia and Latin America and are used by two million customers ranging from individuals to enterprises.
