Amazon introduces 2-hour grocery delivery app, AmazonNow, in Delhi and Mumbai

Expanding its reach, Amazon India on Monday launched its AmazonNow app in Delhi and Mumbai which will let customers shop for over 5,000 every-day essentials from various local stores.
With this app, products will be delivered to the customers’ doorsteps within two hours or at a pre-scheduled time.
“Our aim is to delight our customers with the best selection and pricing across our platforms,” said Category Leader, Amazon India, Saurabh Srivastava in a statement.
The app, available on Google Play Store, offers free delivery for baskets above Rs 350.
Amazon launched a two-hour grocery delivery service ‘Kirana Now’ last year, which was subsequently renamed ‘Amazon Now’ as the e-commerce major found that major branded stores also joining the platform along with local kirana shops.
The FMCG segment has 19 lakh products and 9,000 sellers, with 50 per cent of the orders coming from outside the top eight cities.
