Paytm takes offers, cashback offline with its 12/12 cashfree festival

Paytm has today announced the launch of its 12/12 Cashfree Festival, a shopping extravaganza to celebrate the spirit of going cashfree. The offline shopping festival is aimed to introduce millions of new consumers to the convenience of going cashfree while shopping at their favorite offline stores.
Paytm customers can shop from a wide range of categories including apparel and accessories, mobiles and electronics, consumer durables and home furnishings among others at over 15 lakh offline stores including top brand stores, food chains and retail outlets across India and enjoy exciting promotional offers including 100 per cent cashback, free movie tickets, Uber rides, iPhones and tickets to T20 games when they pay using Paytm.
Speaking at the launch, Founder-CEO, Paytm, Vijay Shekhar Sharma said, “The 12/12 Cashfree festival is aimed at celebrating the inclusive power of mobile payments and commerce. It marks our commitment to work closely with the offline merchant community to ensure that the smallest of vendors can accept mobile payments at their stores at zero cost. Going forward, we will continue to celebrate the day as an annual event that salutes the spirit of going cashfree.”
Paytm has also partnered with TRRAIN to enable customers to donate a small sum towards the welfare of retail employees when they pay at offline stores during the festival. The company will match the final amount rupee for rupee and donate the same for the cause.
Commenting on the partnership, Founder, TRRAIN, B S Nagesh said, “TRRAIN is privileged to partner Paytm in its Cashfree shopping festival. While Paytm is empowering retailers across the country by helping them go digital, TRRAIN is empowering retail employees to do well both at work and home. All donations received through the program will go towards livelihood creation, skill development and women empowerment programs of the trust.”
Paytm has partnered with several major offline store including Big Bazaar, Pantaloons, Spencer’s, Heritage Fresh, Peter England, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, People, Planet Fashion, Croma, The Mobile Store, Viveks, Mothercare. Claire, Lotto, Clarks, Red tape, Relaxo, Sports station, Burger King, Pizza hut, Barista, Chaayos, Carls Jr, Affinity Salon, Forever 21, Kalyan Sarees and Pure among other retailers to host exciting offers for its customers during the festival.
Within a year of launching its Online-to-Offline (O2O) payment solution, Paytm has emerged as the fastest growing QR Code-based POS network in the country. Backed by a strong payment ecosystem of customers and merchants, the company is aiming to hit an annualized GMV of $10Bn by the end of the current financial year.
