Must Read

In a bid to take customer pampering to the next level, Jean-Claude Biguine, leader in the luxury salon and spa chain segment, has acquired The Home Salon, an existing well-known brand for home services in Mumbai.
The Home Salon is one of the fastest growing home-based beauty services provider in the city, from the numerous new budding service providers. Through this partnership, The Home Salon will be the first to offer customers a range of luxury products and services in the comfort and privacy of their client’s homes, leveraging the service quality and experience that Jean-Claude Biguine is known for.
This move expands the existing Rs 61,500 crore plus beauty salon segment, growing at a pace of 27.07 per cent CAGR (FY14 to FY19E), to the informal beauticians serving hygiene services at home. Biguine India now truly offers beauty at your convenience.
On the acquisition, CEO, The Home Salon, Rishika Chandan said, “THS has always been committed to offering the best in beauty and grooming to customers at their doorstep. In Jean-Claude Biguine, we are delighted to have a partner that understands beauty like no other player and places quality of service above all. We shall offer our customers an enhanced offering with exclusive international products, top class services and a luxury experience at home.”
The transaction is a mix of cash and equity. Both founders Rishika Chandan and Nihar Thanawala will continue to spearhead the operations for home services and expand the product portfolio and geographical footprint in the months to come.
In yet another groundbreaking strategic move and a first for any international salon chain, Jean-Claude Biguine has created an entire ‘Hair Cure’ segment through its recently acquired Trica Hair Clinic (www.trica.in).
Trica Hair Clinic is a specialist in hair solutions using innovative, global medical technologies. With this acquisition, Jean-Claude Biguine will now add personalised consultations as well as non-invasive hair and scalp clinical treatments for curing thinning, hair-loss and scalp care among others, to their menu of services. From October 2016, Jean-Claude Biguine will offer these hair care solutions across all their salons in Mumbai, and salons in Bengaluru soon thereafter.
55 per cent of all Indian males and 45 per cent of all Indian females between the ages 20 and 50 years require hair cure. A market of Rs 6000 crore plus only in the top 20 cities, Jean-Claude Biguine has re-defined ‘one-stop shop’ for salons and spas across the world.
Chief Executive Officer, TRICA, Rakesh Pandey added “We are very excited with this industry defining move, and see tremendous synergy in our coming together. This merger is rooted in ultimate consumer convenience and benefit, and with this collaboration, we will bring highly effective, world class, holistic solutions to all customers.”
“We are very excited to announce our acquisition of Trica Hair Clinic and the merger with The Home Salon. In collaborating with these two premiere hair care and beauty brands, Jean-Claude Biguine India has broadened our service offering to customers and have brought styling, cure, care and convenience all under one roof,” comments Chief Executive Officer, Jean-Claude Biguine Salons and Spas India, Samir Srivastav.
