Smartphones in demand at Snapdeal's Diwali sale

Snapdeal, an e-commerce platform, sold nearly one lakh mobile phones and registered more than 11 lakh buyers in the first 16 hours of its “Unbox Diwali Sale”, the company said on Sunday.
During the sale, which started on Sunday, Samsung J2 and Le Eco’s Le Max 2 emerged to be the top selling mobile phones. Early trends also showed a huge demand for mobiles, appliances, personal electronics and furniture items, the company said in a statement.
“We are very excited to see the tremendous response in the initial hours of the Diwali Unbox Sale. Many more exciting offers are lined up over the next days of the sale,” Snapdeal Vice President Saurabh Bansal said.
