Snapdeal is gearing up for the festive season to ensure that its users continue to get the fastest ever deliveries this Diwali. In the last few months, it has added multiple new integrated logistics centres, which are now filling up, as sellers stock up for Diwali.
The run up to Diwali will see the creation of nearly 10,000 temporary jobs, which will run from September 15 to November 15, 2016. These temporary positions will mostly be in logistics and delivery to ensure that deliveries flow smoothly and in the time committed to users. These temporary assignments will be across the country, both with Snapdeal and with its business partners.
During the Diwali period, all logistics centres will be functional 24X7 to receive, sort, screen and ship products. The SD+ centres will continuously process orders and orders received even late night will be prepared for dispatch for next day morning. The teams engaged in packing the shipments will run extra shifts by creating temporary positions. Additional manpower will be deployed at the in-bound points at all SD+ centres to screen, sort and store the goods as they come in.
The additional hands on deck this festive season will ensure that no deliveries are delayed due manpower non-availability. Snapdeal now has next day delivery to 104 cities and various delivery partners working with Snapdeal in these 104 cities are adding close to 4500 delivery and supervisory staff to incorporate additional shifts and extended work hours.
Speaking about the announcement, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Snapdeal, Jayant Sood said, “Multiple third party reports have recorded that Snapdeal has the fastest deliveries across India. This Diwali we are committed to upgrade this experience further still by delivering within one-two days across most towns and cities in India”.
Snapdeal expects that at least 150,000 lakhs sellers out its total seller base of 300,000+ would be actively involved in the festive sale surge. Seller account managers at Snapdeal have been posted at various regional locations to enable smoother interaction with key sellers during festive season.
