BlueStone.com hires senior executives to lead product and technology

Close on the heels of their latest funding round of Rs 200 crores, BlueStone.com has laid the roadmap for exponential growth in the coming months by ramping up its product and technology teams.
The company has brought on board two key executives – Ravi Krishna as Senior Vice President of Product and Samarth Bhargava as Vice President of Technology. The new appointments will help BlueStone.com strengthen its technology infrastructure while enhancing the jewellery buying experience online.
Commenting on the recent hires, Founder & CEO, BlueStone.com, Gaurav Singh Kushwaha said, “Our technology and product functions are at the core of our business and strengthening them with exceptional talent will ensure robust growth while offering a truly personalized experience for customers. Both Ravi and Samarth are highly talented individuals with a proven track record. They will play a crucial role in charting our ambitious growth path with an eye on profitability over the next couple of years.”
Ravi Krishna appointed as Senior Vice President, Products, brings with him over a decade’s experience in product development in India and the Silicon Valley. During the course of his career, he has been instrumental in releasing half a dozen new products.
Ravi moves into BlueStone.com from Helpchat, where he was the Senior VP for Strategic Products. In the past, he was associated with Zynga, MakeMyTrip and NetApp. Krishna is a Computer Science graduate from IIT, Delhi with an MBA from Indian School of Business.
“I enjoy working on new ideas with young and enthusiastic teams. I truly believe in ‘when in doubt, let data light your path’. In the past, I have worked on developing several products, both in India and USA. My latest project was building an AI based Personal Assistant which anticipated user needs and fulfilled them automatically,” said Senior Vice President, Products, BlueStone.com, Ravi Krishna.
With his extensive experience, analytics-driven product management, understanding of game dynamics and customer psychology, Krishna will play an important role in strengthening the product team at BlueStone.com and help build personalized experience for customers.
Samarth Bhargava joins BlueStone.com as the Vice President of Technology with over 14 years of experience under his belt. Prior to joining Bluestone.com, he was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs and was associated with AppBank Engineering, building systems for streaming big data and predictive analytics. Bhargava has also worked with GE and Dell along with a stint in the United States where he worked with Dow Jones and LexisNexis as a consulting Architect. Bhargava obtained his BE in ‘Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering’ from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.
“My new assignment with BlueStone.com is unlike any of my earlier functions. The online jewellery segment in India is still at a very nascent stage and there is so much we can do from a technological perspective. I am thrilled at the prospect of introducing some of the first’s in the jewellery e-commerce space in India in the coming months and look forward to providing our customers with a world-class jewellery shopping experience,” said Samarth Bhargava, Vice President, Technology, BlueStone.com.
Bhargava’s tech prowess, particularly in web technologies, performance engineering, big data and predictive analytics will allow BlueStone.com to harness the potential of technology to create special experience to its customers, both on mobile and the desktop.
