Fashion portal Myntra has roped in Manohar Kamath, a senior executive working in retail chain Shoppers Stop, to lead its fashion brands category. Kamath will replace Abhishek Verma who had joined Myntra in April 2014 after an eight-year stint at consulting firm McKinsey.
Myntra has hired Kamath as it looks forward to build a combined Omnichannel strategy that includes both online and offline services. Private labels are a key part of Myntra’s Omnichannel strategy, as it plans to open the first store in next three months under one of these brands.
Speaking on his new assignment, Manohar Kamath said, “I’m thrilled with my new assignment. I have watched the company grow over the years and build a strong portfolio of brands and I am looking forward to be a part of its journey to transform online fashion in India.”
Kamath has also worked as Director at Crossword Book Stores, Chief of Retail Operations at Shoppers Stop, Head of Operations at Shoppers Stop, Vice President – Operations at Globus and Marketing Manager at Arvind Mills.
His career spans building the denim business at Arvind with brands like Ruf & Tuf and delivering business turnarounds through relentless focus on the consumer at Shoppers Stop. At the height of his eight year stint with Shoppers Stop, he has lead National Retail Operations, Best Practices, Customer Relations, Visual Merchandising, Business Development, Projects, Institutional Sales, Administration & Maintenance and more.
He holds a Post-graduate Diploma in Management from T.A. Pai Management Institute, Manipal.
