Harvard Business School recently conducted a video interview of Shahnaz Husain, the quintessential entrepreneur, who has become internationally renowned for her brand of Ayurvedic beauty care and unique business strategies. The interview was conducted by Harvard Professor Sunil Gupta, who was accompanied by senior researchers of the Harvard Business School Research Centre. The Shahnaz Husain interview will be a part of the Harvard Business School teaching curriculum.
In fact, interviews of business leaders help Harvard in collecting data for the development of courses and teaching material. In the recent past, Shahnaz was invited to speak to students of Harvard Business School on her unique franchise system and word of mouth marketing strategy; how she never relied on commercial advertising to market her products.
Harvard Professor Sunil Gupta interviewed Shahnaz on her franchise system, by which she extended her salons and outlets all over the world. She also spoke on her phenomenal journey from one herbal salon to a global chain of franchise ventures. She recalled the time when she made the products herself, to her current state-of-the-art manufacturing units and R&D facilities.
Today, Shahnaz Herbal is the only Indian herbal beauty brand selling at Selfridges, the world’s most prestigious store. Indeed, Shahnaz Husain has achieved the impossible – establishing international brand identity, based on unique business strategies.
