Tata tops list of India's 100 most valuable brands

Tata topped the list of India’s 100 most valuable brands in the latest edition of consultant Brand Finance’s listing of India’s top 100 brands- this despite a value drop of 11 per cent from 2015 due to decline in revenue over the past three quarters.
As many as seven of 12 conglomerates, including Tata, Reliance and ITC, saw their brand value drop in Brand Finance’s 2016 report.
Tata’s value stood at an estimated $13.7 billion, according to the global brand valuation and strategy consultancy, while the total brand value of India’s 100 most valuable brands is estimated at $120 billion.
Motorcycle brand Royal Enfield, ranked 49 in 2016, and is the fastest growing brand with its brand value rising 91 per cent from 2015, the report stated.
Of the top 25 brands in the list, top retail gainers in terms of value included Amul (54 per cent), and Mahindra (37 per cent).
