VLCC Institute of Beauty and Nutrition plans to train 15,000 students in FY 2016-17

VLCC Institute of Beauty and Nutrition – a chain of vocational education academies in beauty and nutrition – held its 15th annual Convocation in New Delhi recently with over 400 students receiving their certificates. Smriti Irani, Union Minister of Textiles, presided as Chief Guest.
Vandana Luthra, VLCC Founder & Vice Chairperson and Chairperson, Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC) under the aegis of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to promote skilling initiatives for backward classes, minorities and transgender people.
Speaking at the event Luthra, said in a company statement, “The future of our country lies in its competitiveness and innovation through education and skill development. We congratulate the Government for clearing a national apprentice promotion scheme, and allocating Rs. 10,000 crore for the same. We look forward to collaborating with the Government to create a pool of skilled work force.”
“We are looking forward to ‘World Youth Skills Day’ on 15 July that will highlight the importance of skill training to the youth for overall development. With that in mind, we aim to train 15,000 students this year, while partnering with Private Enterprise and PSUs on CSR projects to provide livelihood through skill based training. Such an approach will ensure self-sustainability for CSR projects,” she added.
In addition to successful implementation of leading like the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and the Seekho Aur Kamao scheme, VLCC Institutes will continue their efforts towards:

  • Higher quality focus through “Train the Trainer” programmes to ensure quality benchmarks
  • Facilitate entrepreneurship to VLCC Institute students through Government schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana in association with the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council
  • Introduce Beauty & Wellness sector related courses in schools and colleges, in association with Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council
  • Skill based training programmes run by Governments — Central and State for skills training
