Vilara aims to bring over 1000 boutiques in one place

Fashion marketplace Voonik has recently entered the premium e-commerce segment with the acquisition of Zohraa, a marketplace for designers and boutiques. The segment will be called Vilara.
Additionally, the company has also acqui-hired Styl, an app that connects salons and stylists to users, as well as Picksilk, an online silk store for handloom sarees.
“By acqui-hiring Zohraa, we got access to a premium supplier network. With Picksilk on board, we now have access to a highly coveted silk weaver community. Styl team gave the immediate impetus to the Vilara App development. We got to market with both web and app within a record time,” CEO, Voonik, Sujayath Ali, said in a press statement.
With Vilara, the comapny claims to bring over 1000 boutiques in one place.
Zohraa, which currently has a team of 12 members, was founded in June, 2012 and sells ethnic wear and designer wear products. Styl was founded as a platform to connect salons and stylists and consumers. It has a team of nine members.While Picksilk is an online store for Silk sarees.
“We built a company to connect under-represented and technologically-backward handloom sector to a huge base of women who love silk sarees. Joining Vilara will help us in fulfilling our dream of bringing joy to every woman through a pure silk saree,” CEO, Picksilk, Shiv Kancharla, said in a statement.
In a premium fashion segment, Vilara will be competing with sites like Styletag, Luxepolis, and Confidential Couture. Besides fasion, Vilara will be catering to home category aswell.
Recently, Voonik has also launched an app – Mr Voonik – to solve shopping problems for men. The app will not only offer a wide choice of men’s clothing and accessories, but will also save shopping time for men with the highly coveted personalisation services that are a rarity in this segment.
