Haldiram's goes digital, ties up with Freecharge

Freecharge, digital payment platform, has partnered with Haldiram’s to ease payment process for consumers and introduce a swifter and secure way to make cashless payments in 41 Haldiram’s outlets across 11 cities in India.
Customers will now be able to their mobile phones to make payments and complete the transaction with a secure On-The-Go-Pin in less than 10 seconds. The wallet will go live across all stores by next week.
“Through this association, we aim to help Haldiram’s streamline its payment processes and move away from managing cash and truly go digital. The partnership will help us expand our offline footprint and enable over two million consumers on a monthly basis from tier I and II cities be part of digital payments ecosystems. We are excited to enable consumers from cities like Bhiwadi, Rewari, Sonepat, Panipat, Zirakpur replace cash from their day-today transactions by using the Freecharge Wallet,” CEO, Freecharge, Govind Rajan, said in an official statement.
Earlier this year, Freecharge also partnered with McDonalds and Café Coffee Day to influence the daily payment habits of consumers and get them used to digital payments. It has also partnered with Shoppers Stop.
“We cater to over two million consumers on a monthly basis and digital payments help address concerns of managing cash thereby streamlining and making the payment process safer for consumers. Freecharge is going to be a great value proposition for our company and customers, ” Assistant General Manager, Haldiram’s, Aman Singhal, said in a statement.
FreeCharge wallet has over 15 million active users and plans to create a digital payments ecosystem for customers to use as part of their day-to-day activities.
