UrbanClap appoints ex-Housing.com executive as VP – Design

Mobile services marketplace, UrbanClap has recently announced the appointment of former Housing.com VP, Amit Das as its new Vice President – Design.
Das was an integral part of Housing.com as the Head of its Design Team. He rose to become its VP, Design, where he conceptualized the next generation of housing & buying opportunities with design and data collaboration with its in-house data team.
In his new role, Amit will be responsible for leading the product development & design function within UrbanClap. His prior experience in data visualization & Interaction design, UI design, usability testing, and user research will be instrumental in furthering business goals of UrbanClap.

Therefore, we are delighted to have Amit on-board with us to utilize his expertise in making UrbanClap a pioneer in the e-commerce platform. We are confident that his prior experience in the field of visual design and user interface will help us develop a world-class product, which caters to the need of its customers,” Co-founder UrbanClap, Abhiraj Bhal, said in a press statement.
Amit, who started his career as a developer in Mumbai, had earlier worked at companies like Fab.com and FusionCharts. Apart from starting his own web design startup, viz. Kria Interactive, before joining Housing.com in March 2015.
Founded in November 2014, UrbanClap provides trusted services across 80+ categories including photographers, salon at home, home cleaning & repairs,among others. It has recently tied up with Snapdeal to integrate these services on former’s mobile application.
The move will let Snapdeal foray in personal services category, while UrbanClap get access to Snapdeal’s strong user base.
