IGI will be home to India's first airport mall

Xander Group, DLF Ltd, Bharti Land Ltd, The Phoenix Mills Ltd, K. Raheja Corp are in a cut throat competition to construct India’s first ever airport mall at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, as reported by e-paper Livemint.

As per the report, the mall will be built over an area of 2 million sq. ft. It would cost approx Rs 600 crore for development.

When operational, it will cater not only the passengers but also the residents of the area and Gurgaon. Its proximity to the nearby high profile hotels overlooking National Highway 8, in Aerocity will attract a good number of upmarket shoppers.

Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) serving the city New Delhi, has grown a lot in the past decade as its passenger traffic has been doubled since 2007.

The busiest airport of the country has seen many developments from time to time, latest being the upcoming mall which will give a new identity to it.
