Mysore lab submits Maggi report to SC

Must Read

The government Mysore laboratory on Tuesday submitted its test report on 16 Maggi samples to the Supreme Court following the apex court’s order in January this year calling for fresh tests to ascertain the quantity of lead and MSG in them.
The lab was asked to determine whether the presence of MSG/Glutamic Acid in Maggi noodles were within permissible limits.
The apex court has further directed these reports be supplied to Nestle and the Central Government for arguments in July. The next hearing is to be held on July 19.
Meanwhile, Maggi’s manufacturer Nestle during the hearing told the apex court that the food department notification concedes no lab test can determine MSG presence.
Nestle further maintained its stand that MSG occurs naturally in grains and that no added MSG was present in Maggi noodles.
