Freedom 251 puts Ringing Bells in trouble

Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd, the smartphone company of Noida had offered to sell world’s cheapest smartphone in just Rs 251 under Freedom 251. This promotion has put them in trouble as BJP MP Kirit Somaiya had filed an FIR against the founders of this company.

Furtherance on this subject, the Allahabad High Court has ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to file a status report by April 5 about the FIR which was launched against the founders. Till then, the court has instructed the government to not take any strong steps against the accused.

BJP MP Kirit Somaiya had filed an FIR against Mohit Goel, Dharna Garg and Ashok Chadha, the founders of Ringing Bells. As per him, they are misleading customers with their advertisements and collecting money under a ponzi scheme.

A panel of Justices, BK Narayan and Shashi Kant were hearing a criminal writ petition which was filed against the founders of Ringing Bells. Till the hearing reaches a conclusion, Mohit Goel and Ashok Chadha have been compelled to submit their passports to the senior superintendent of Noida police within 24 hours.

“We have nothing to hide. We are committed to affordable smart phones to people of this country and we shall achieve that. We will stick to fair practices and comply with regulations in our great country,” Mohit Goel was quoted by The Economic Times as saying.
