P&G brings family and work together

Must Read

Procter and Gamble’s six month paid maternity policy became famous as it was the first organisation in the US to offer such a privilege. In addition to this, they have recently announced an adoption leave policy where an employee can avail a six months paid leave for adopting a child.

The good news is, this facility is now available for the P & G employees in India also who are looking forward to adoption, as the figure has almost doubled in the last few years.

“The intent of launching the Adoption Leave Policy is to lead the way for the industry as we see the adoption trend rising in the near future,” Human Resources Director, P&G India, Sonali Roychowdhury was quoted by The Economic Times as saying.

Apart from this, the US based organisation has come up with flexible working policy, where an employee does not have to compulsorily come to the office. They can choose one day in a week or more and work from home; with permission from their reporting manager.

This facility will be a boon not only for the maternity or paternity related employees but also for those who have to take care of their ageing parents or a sick family member.
