Iba Halal targets Rs 1000 crore turnover for 2019

Iba Halal Care, India’s first halal and vegan cosmetics maker in the country is working towards a target of Rs 100 crore by 2019.

Gujarat based entrepreneurs Mauli and Grishma Teli made their grand entry in Ahmedabad in 2014 with Halal Cosmetics. Beginning with two stores, they took it further to Surat, Vadodara and Aurangabad. They later moved to Bengaluru and opened six franchisee stores in Safina Plaza in the Commercial Street Area.

By end of 2015-16, the group plans to add 10 more stores all over the country and 3 kiosks in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. With more than 80 products in their list, they are all set to score up in the Rs 60,000 crore personal care market.

As per a report in Economic Times, Mauli Teli said “Our market analysis has shown that consumers are increasingly becoming conscious about their skin and hair products and the demand for ‘halal’ products is on the rise. Indians are preferring to opt for holistic vegetarianism. India is home to world’s second largest Muslim population, yet there is no cosmetics brand in the market that caters adequately to their ethical needs. We felt the time was apt to incorporate ‘halal’ products into our lifestyle. These are certified products that are also vegan and cruelty-free, offering peace of mind to Muslims as well as vegetarians.” Mauli is the CEO and Managing Partner at Ecotrail Personal Care, the parent firm of Iba Halal Care.
