Paytm-DMRC tie up to enable card-less travel?

Must Read

According to unconfirmed media reports, a new joint innovation by Paytm and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) may soon allow consumers to travel with greater ease, by automatically deducting the fare from their Paytm balance. Effectively, this system, which reportedly features a new token, could replace the Metro Recharge Card currently in use.
Earlier this year, Paytm tied up with Mumbai Metro to allow consumers to recharge their Mumbai Metro cards online.
Noida-headquartered Paytm, founded by Vijay Shekhar Sharma, has consistently been adding new categories to its portfolio, with the intention of becoming a one-stop destination for consumers’ daily needs. This year, it has aggressively made alliances with travel and hospitality institutions to grow its gross merchandise value to USD3-4 billion (Rs19,000-25,500 crore) by the end of 2015, according to the company.
