METRO Cash & Carry to open 50 wholesale outlet in India by 2020

METRO Cash & Carry has announced the opening of its second wholesale centre in Delhi, Seelampur, which will start operations from mid-October 2015. The company has now total of 19 wholesale centre in the country and it plans to take the number to 50 by 2020, the company said.
METRO made its first foray into the capital city with its Shahdara wholesale centre, which opened in February 2012.
“Our business customers in Seelampur can look forward to starting the festive season on a profitable note – by making purchases that will maximise their margins, and by utilising our convenient wholesale service solutions to save on time and effort,” Rajeev Bakshi, Managing Director, METRO Cash & Carry India said.
“With the help of our growing network of small and medium-sized local suppliers, we also provide a highly specialised assortment that offers greater cost savings and relevance to the Delhi market,“ he added.
The B2B wholesale centre, which has around 8,500 products across categories, would cater to the needs of the small and large kiranas, entrepreneurs, offices and the HoReCa (hotels, restaurants, caterers) industry.
