Taking its total warehouse strength across the country to 14, and also to cater to the rising demands of consumers , online marketplace FlipKart has opened its first warehouse in Uttar Pradesh. In phase one of its operation, the facility will cover tierII and III cities of the state: Gautam Buddha Nagar, Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Allahabad, Meerut and Aligarh.
At the launch, Binny Bansal, COO and co-founder, Flipkart was quoted as saying, “This new warehouse will immensely benefit our customers in Uttar Pradesh, by providing them with a larger selection of goods and categories they wish for and make their shopping experience a seamless one.”
As per the company, the warehouse has been set up to cater to increased consumer demand from the region, enable quick deliveries and to serve the customers with larger selection of brands and products. The 30,000 sq.ft. facility will provide customers the access to large selection of product categories, including TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves and air-conditioners.
The company will soon start offering home appliances such as home ladders, gas stoves, iron boards and clothes dryers, among other products, and also large sports and fitness products such as treadmills and gym cycles through this warehouse to customers in UP soon.
