Hector Beverages, the makers of Indian ethnic drink, Paper Boat, are planning to retail their products on trains.
The Gurgaon-based start-up, which started by former Coca-Cola employees Neeraj Kakkar and Neeraj Biyani in 2010, is now eligible to enter into a commercial contract with Indian Railways for retailing its beverages range. Neeraj the founder and CEO shares that “the Railways require companies to be operational for two or more years to be able to sell on their network. It is a very big opportunity for us, something that can bring huge volumes. We will initiate a discussion with them now.” The Paper Boat range comprises Aamras, Jaljeera, Jamun Kala Khatta, AamPanna, Kokum, GolgappeKaPani, Chilled Rasam and Iced Tea (in ginger lemon and tulsi flavours).
The buoyant Hector Beverages also simultaneously announced a distribution tie-up with Indo Nissin Foods, the maker of Top Ramen noodles, for tier-II cities and rural pockets of India.
