For Rupal Shabnam Tyagi, the key attribute for beauty was purity. Regular visits to their family owned aromatic plantations and mango orchards led her to be interested in aromatherapy and study the subject. She shares with Salon India her ideas and plans for her own brand, Wikka
Tell us about yourself.
Taking up my passion for aromatherapy professionally, I established India’s first aromatherapy clinic in Delhi. I successfully cured clients suffering from fibromyalgia, arthritis, PMS, body pain, sports injury, migraine and post operative care and various day-to-day concerns, such as, acne, dermatitis, sun damaged skin, ageing, alopecia in women, hair fall and various lifestyle diseases. The same time, I got the opportunity to set up the aromatherapy division for the renowned Amatrra Spa at The Ashok in Delhi. Here I trained the staff, gave personal consultation to the clients and prepared freshly made aromatherapy blends for the clients to use and take home. In-depth experience in the field of aromatherapy, led me to launch my own label, Wikka, which is based on completely natural ingredients like essential oils, herbs and potions.

Tell us about the brand.
Wikka literally translates to pure magic. Sensing the need for products that are not chemically altered or infused with harmful additives, we have crafted a whole line of Wikka Potions. Made in the foothills of the Himalayas these natural wellness products are pure magic for the mind, body and soul. Wikka ensures that the healing powers of essential oils and extracts are harnessed to the maximum. They guarantee consistency in purity and efficacy.
What is the USP of the product?
The strength of our brand lies in the purity of essential oils that are sourced from our own aromatic plantations or associated plantations. Since the way to go is natural, we ensure that all the actives used are plant extracts or plant derived in order to provide chemical-free wellness products. In this way, your body gets an opportunity to regenerate from the adverse effects of stress, pollution and lastly, majority of our actives and ingredients carry Ecocertcertifi cations.
Please tell about the price range and availability of the product.
The products are priced between Rs 500 to Rs 2,000.

What is the marketing and distribution strategy?
We are currently selling through our website www.wikka.in. We have a strong logistic tie-up with reputed operators who ensure that orders are delivered at the earliest in a perfect condition. Wikka will soon have its first offline presence through our flagship store coming up on MG Road, Ghitorni in Delhi very soon.

What lies ahead for the brand in skin care?
Wikka is working on expanding its skin care range. We will soon be coming out with a range for individual skin types. We already have a wonderful product for regular skin which is the Beauty Potion. Our focus for the new range will be sensitive skin and mature skin. Wikka will soon be coming out with our salon and spa range. These products will also be in line with the principles of Wikka and will have the same USP.

What are your expansion and future plans?
We plan to increase the offline presence of Wikka to other metro and Tier I cities. We are in talks with a few multi designer stores for increasing our offline presence in a shop-in-shop model. This will help us in expanding our base and reaching out to our customers.
