Cocoberry, the leading frozen yogurt chain, has unveiled plans to open more outlets within a month in India and overseas. It has recently opened one outlet in Lucknow and has disclosed plans to open one outlet in Maldives.
The chain has also entered the ice cream category by introducing a low fat ice cream, which will be made available in three flavours: Blackcurrant, Chocochip Mousse & Toffee Caramel Crunch.
Cocoberry’s low fat ice cream contains less than 2.5 per cent fat, giving far lower calories per serving compared to other premium ice creams, which contain more than 10 per cent fat.
“Our first objective was to be present in a much larger category than frozen yogurt, while continuing to stick to our core offering of a healthy frozen dessert. The ice-cream market is exponentially larger than frozen yogurt. A lot of customers perceive our product to be `like ice-cream’ and wanted us to have ice-cream in our portfolio. A secondary objective to introduce this category was to increase our distribution by introducing the product in take home tubs, ” Rahul Dean, CEO, Cocoberry, informed Indiaretailing.
“We are the only range of low fat ice-creams in the market and our customer research showed that this was a very credible proposition for Cocoberry, ” Dean added.
“Our toffee caramel flavor is ideal for kids, while the chocolate mousse flavor allows the customer to indulge in chocolate ice-cream without the guilt associated with high calories. Through the product has a long shelf life, the ice-cream contains no preservatives, ” Deans confirmed.
Talking about Cocoberry’s retail expansion plans, Deans said, ” We are planning to open four outlets within a month and one in Maldives. We have started home delivery and are looking to distribute the product outside of our store network. ”
