When it comes to luxury, it’s Men who make the big ticket purchases

Must Read

Defying the common perception that women shop more than men, shopping trends at the most coveted luxury mall of the country, DLF Emporio, suggest it’s men who are the big ticket buyers of the luxury; men account for almost 51 per cent of sales at DLF Emporio.

According to Dinaz Madhukar, Sr. VP, DLF Emporio, ” We were shocked to find out that it’s men who contribute around 51 per cent of sales to the overall sales of the mall. Men are generally sorted shoppers and know exactly what they want, so they generally shop at once of all the things they require. On the other hand, women frequent the mall more and shop in small quantities and also like to explore more options before zeroing down on one particular product.”

Talking about evolving luxury trends, Madhukar says, “Consumers are moving towards niche and exclusivity rather than considering just big labels. It’s accessories and couture ethnic designerwear that are doing exceptionally well. Also, over the years we have noticed that luxury kidswear brands are doing phenomenally well.”

Few of the recent entrants in the mall are Bulgari, BCBG Max Azaria, Montegrappa, Mirari Jewellery, Anita Dongre couture etc.
