    TRRAIN Retail Awards honour retail industry’s best

    The fourth edition of the Retail Awards were recently concluded at the Hyatt Regency, Chennai.

    , Founder – TRRAIN, shared the stage with Arun Bhawsingka, CEO – Portico, Chief Guest of the evening and handed over the awards to the National winners of , 2014.

    Speaking on the occasion, B S Nagesh, Founder, TRRAIN, said, ” Serving customers is the basic goal of all retailers. But most of the retailers believe selling goods and services is the way to serve customers. Some retailers have customer service embedded into their skill development programs of their companies. During the course of my involvement in the TRRAIN Retail Awards, I have come across many organizations that have developed values around the customer and serving the customers. These values have played an important role in building the culture of the company and therefore customer service and customer retention becomes ingrained in every employee of the company.”

    The awards ceremony recognised the following winners – Kailengou Kipgen and Bikash Singh from Bengaluru, Mahendran Sampath Chennai, Bala Chander from Hyderabad, Farha, Pankaj Kumar and Vinod Badoni from Delhi, Mukesh Rawat – Lucknow, Rajesh Kumar – Bilaspur, Tapaswini Patil and Tushare Pendam from Nagpur, Sujoy Mondal, Bablu Nayak and Amlan Banerjee from Kolkatta, Pranita Rajput from Raipur, Hanumantrao Patil, Bhavesh Shindeand Sayali Parab from Mumbai. The winning companies had eminent names like Dominos, Crossword Bookstores Ltd., Godrej Nature’s Baskte, Titan Eye Plus, KFC, etc.

    The National Awards were finally awarded to Farha from Godrej Nature’s Basket as National Winner – Bronze, Vinod Badoni as National Winner – Silver and Pankaj Kumar as National Winner – Gold. The national winners, in addition to the Trophy and citation, were also given the cash prizes ranging from Rs. 20,000/- upto Rs. 50,000/-. The national winners are also given a retail study tour offer to Dubai in the year 2015. Talking about the winners, the awards and the event Ms. Ameesha Prabhu, CEO, TRRAIN said “We are very happy to be in Chennai today hosting the awards. This year the response for the applications has been even more encouraging and overwhelming over the past editions. Nominations from more than 75 brands have been received from all corners of the country and about 116 cities have participated in the awards”.

    TRRAIN invites the applications for TRRAIN Retail Awards in the month of August for a window of 45 days through online and offline entries. Once the window is closed, the back end process of verification, screening and evaluation of the 1450 stories begin right from the pre-jury panel evaluation right upto the top 16 stories of every zone (north, south, east and west) being shortlisted for a personal interview. These interviews are scheduled with a panel of 4 to 5 emminent Regional personalities. TO name a few of them of this year: Rashmi Singh from the Union Territory Civil services, Gitanjali Singh – VP Marketing from Select City Walk, Chairperson of Pratham Books – Suzanne Singh, CEO – Chumbak – Vivek Prabhakar, etc.

    This year the jury members for the TRRAIN Awards were Murugavel Janakiraman – Founder & CEO, Bharat Matrimony Group, K Pandiarajan – Cofounder MD & CEO Ma Foi, Hemu Ramaiah – MD Shop4Solutions, Founder Landmark, Sandeep Reddy – MD Peepul Capital and Werner Studer – Executive Director Intercontinental Group of Department Stores, who evaluating the 16 Regional winners in their national jury meet.

    At the event, B.A. Kodandaraman, Chairman & Managing Director, Viveks and Vikas Choudhury, CFO, AIMIA Inc along with B.S Nagesh, Founder of TRRAIN launched the book, ‘I Just Did It’ which was published in association with IMAGES Group. The book comprises of the stories of customer service excellence.

    TRRAIN was formed in 2011 by B. S. Nagesh, with the vision of empowering people in retail and works to achieve immediate and lasting change in the lives of retail associates in India.
