Walmart extends online B2B marketplace in India

Designed with the objective of enhancing the shopping experience of members of its  cash and carry format Best Price Wholesale,Walmart India has launched B2B e-commerce platform in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.

The online depot offers members an opportunity to virtually view a huge array of products and make their respective selections without the need of physically visiting the store. This platform — www.bestprice.in — offers an option to choose from similar assortment of products at display in the brick-and-mortar Best Price Modern Wholesale stores, including a select variety of fresh fruits and vegetables introduced recently.

Speaking at the launch, Krish Iyer, President and CEO, Walmart India, said, “We are certain that members in Rajahmundry would benefit significantly. The convenience of easy selection and payment along with efficient delivery of quality products at their doorsteps are among the key factors that have led to the success of this initiative.”

The US-based giant has launched a similar B2B e-commerce platform in

Lucknow, Hyderabad, Guntur andVijaywada in the past.

Walmart India owns and operates 20 Best Price Modern Wholesale stores in nine states across India. The first store opened in Amritsar in May 2009. The company plans to open 50 more cash and carry outlets by 2020.
