Rahul Mehta, new President of IAF

President of the the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), Rahul Mehta has been elected as the new President of the International Apparel Federation (IAF) for the Years 2014 – 2016. Mehta succeeds Harry Van Dalfsen who was President for last four years.

IAF is based out of Netherlands and a Federation of the National Clothing Associations of nearly 50 Countries, including the US, UK, Europe, Japan, China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka etc. It represents over 150,000 companies who provide products and services to the apparel industry. The federation membership represents over 20 million employees.

Each country is represented by only one industry Association who is invited to be a member of IAF. The General Assembly also elected Claudio Marenzi, President of the Italian Apparel and Textile Association, Systema Moda Italia (SMI) as the New Vice President.

Han Bekke, Secretary General (IAF), who will step down at the end of the year, will take over at the new treasurer of IAF from Hasan Arat who has stepped down from the board of IAF.

Matthijs Crietee, currently Deputy Secretary General, will take over as the new Secretary General of IAF from 1st January 2015.
