Amira Pure Foods Private Limited, the Indian subsidiary of the NYSE-listed Amira Nature Foods Ltd. (NYSE:ANFI), has announced its partnership with Snapdeal.com for e-retailing its premium range of Basmati rice under the brand ‘AMIRA’ at a national level.

AMIRA is the first premium packaged basmati rice brand to be available on the Internet through the organized retail format with pan-India presence.

Mr. Karan A. Chanana, Chairman of the Amira Group, announced this decision noting the growing trend of consumers shopping online for daily household items. “We predict a paradigm shift in the behavioral pattern of our target consumers. With internet penetration in India about to grow exponentially, we see consumers increasingly adopting e-commerce for even luxury FMCG items such as premium Basmati. Thus, we as the leader in the premium rice segment want to be present in this exciting online marketplace to add to the convenience of our loyal customers across India.”

AMIRA, which is one of the largest exporters of Basmati rice from India, is offering its wide range of Basmati rice products on Snapdeal.com to match the options which consumers have at a physical store. The AMIRA products made available online include:

  • Amira Extra Long Grain Basmati Rice
  • Amira Traditional Basmati Rice
  • Amira Guru Extra Long Grain Basmati Rice
  • Amira Guru Everyday Basmati Rice
