TastyKhana.in simplifies food ordering with Express Box

Must Read

Online food portal, TastyKhana.in, has introduced  ‘Express Box’. The Express Box is the portal’s effort to further simplify food ordering process. Restaurants need to just click a button and the order print out comes in the form of KOT (kitchen order ticket) – a standard ordering format which the restaurants want. Further, they can also choose the delivery time based on their existing order load and customer gets an instant delivery communication regarding his order. This would especially help the portal during their offer/peak days as order processing would be simplified leading to better ordering and delivery experience.

This concept has been patented by TastyKhana.in’s holding company, Delivery Hero GmbH. The box is small, sturdy, economical and user friendly. It has been designed for receiving orders and houses a Global SIM Card connected to the local mobile telephone network (GSM-telephone network). It has a thermal printer thereby reducing its operational cost. It uses a credit card roll which is readily available at all the restaurants. The Express Box is directly connected to TastyKhana portal and once the customer places an order, the respective restaurant gets an alert on their express box by a blinking blue light and a beep tone which can be easily heard in a noisy restaurant surrounding.

Shachin Bharadwaj, CEO & Founder says, “We wanted to do away with calling the restaurants or emailing them when we received orders as that did take up our customers’ delivery time. Being the first e-commerce portal in India to launch our own device, the Express Box is an accessible, easy-to-use and a much needed technological boon for restaurant owners as well as customers. Considering that each minute is important for our customer, the Express Box reduces delivery time by 20 minutes as the order is directly submitted at the restaurant cutting down on the time and facilitating quick and convenient food delivery. We have already installed these boxes in 20 percent of the restaurants across the country and we hope to reach out to all our 7000+ partnered restaurants soon.”

“This time we have made an attempt to simplify the process of receiving orders by our restaurant partners which adds to their turnaround time of delivering food to our customers. With the launch of Express box’, the respective restaurant owners can receive the food orders and execute the delivery swiftly. The box is simple to use and easy to maintain as one doesn’t needs a fax machine or a desktop or an internet connection to connect to foodies now,” shares Sheldon Dsouza, CTO & Co-Founder.

Eatsome, one of TastyKhana.in’s partner restaurants, has Express Box installed in its 14 outlets in Pune. “The Express Box installed in our outlets by tastykhana.in brings great relief to our managers and order takers as they don’t need to struggle over phone for taking orders. It saves a lot of our time and increases our focus on faster deliveries. The orders are received instantly once the customer submits the order on Tastykhana.in. When an order is received on the BOX, we can accept or decline it based on the rush at our outlet & the customers are very well informed about the status of the order. This ensures that all orders are properly tracked and they are not delayed even during rush hours,” says Siddharth Joshi, Founder of  Eatsome.
