Yours Food Pvt. Ltd., a homegrown FMCG brand announced their foray into the Rs.15, 000 crore Indian Tea Industry with the launch of India’s first widest range of exotic Green Tea. The company is the first Indian brand to launch such a wide variety of Green Tea in India. Yours food will expand its business in a phased manner with the launch of Premium Black Tea – Darjeeling and Assam, CTC Tea and Readymade packaged Tea in various stages.
Led by a new generation of young entrepreneurs spearheaded by Mr.S.N. Agarwala, MD, Yours Food Pvt. Ltd. the company has a strong legacy in the related field for nearly three decades. Initially, YOURS range would include Green Tea, Tulsi Green Tea, Lemon Green Tea, Earl Grey Green Tea, Jasmine Green Tea, Mint Green Tea.
S N Agarwal, MD, Yours Food, said “The green tea market in India, is one such product segment, which is estimated as an approximately Rs 150 crore. India is also one of the largest tea-drinking nations and demand for green tea is increasing at a rate of 17 per cent per annum against only 3 per cent for black tea in the domestic market. With a population of 1.21 billion, India is becoming the powerhouse of green tea market. Moreover branded Tea segment enjoys around 65% market share and rest 35% is mostly unorganized in Indian Tea Industry. Our aim is to capture this vacuum and position ourselves as a leading brand in the category.”
Initially, YOURS green Tea will be available across Eastern India followed by a pan India presence by 2015. The company will export to USA, Canada, South Africa & Middle East.
With an estimated investment of Rs.35 crore initially, the group is targeting a turnover of Rs.100 crore by the end of the fiscal year 2014-15. The market share of CTC tea constitutes 80% of the tea market followed by Orthodox Tea & Darjeeling Tea. With the rising health consciousness urban youth Green Tea has become an acquired cultural habit that has come along with the urban India’s urge to stay fit.
As a part of its brand expansion strategy, YOURS will soon be expanding in biscuits, Tea and other food segments.
