Talon Signs Co-branding Agreement with Levi Strauss & Co.

Must Read

Global supplier of zippers, apparel fasteners, trim and stretch technology products, Talon has granted Levi Strauss & Company a license to use the Tekfit brand in connection with the marketing and sales by Levi of Dockers pants that include the patented Tekfit comfort stretch waistband.

Lonnie Schnell, Talon’s CEO said, “The inclusion of our innovative Tekfit waistband into the Dockers pants represents a creative advance in apparel design and the license and branding agreement with Levi is a key step in the remarketing of our Tekfit stretch technology.”

The Tekfit technology transforms an otherwise non-stretchable fabric into a fabric with the ability to stretch and recover nearly two sizes, resulting in an unusually comfortable, flexible waistband without compromising the style, look or feel of the garment –only the wearer knows the stretch is there.

During 2003 – 2006 Talon and Levi incorporated the Tekfit flexible waistband into approximately 40 million Dockers pants that were highly successful at retail. Talon has renewed and improved this technology and has now joined with Levi again to bring this comfort enhancing product to the consumer.

Production is currently underway to incorporate the Tekfit waistband into a range of Dockers pant styles scheduled for release to the consumer before the end of the year.

“We are very pleased to again partner with Levi in bringing this unique product to the consumer. In addition to our work with Levi we are also working with other major retailers to include this innovative comfort technology into products such as dress shirt collars, denim jeans, and intimate wear,” Schnell added.

The license agreement also provides for Levi and Talon to co-brand the Dockers pants to identify the Tekfit technology to assist consumers in identifying and choosing products with a Tekfit comfort stretch waistband.
