Greek Snack Company Chipita Invests 600 cr in Sanand, Gujarat

Greek snack producer, Chipita has made an investment in the city of Sanand in Gujarat to the tune of over Rs 600 crore. The 3.04 lakh sqft factory in Sanand will be the company’s second manufacturing unit after one in Mumbai. Products manufactured in Mumbai are currently retailed in Jharkhand and Chattisgarh.

The Greek company produces and markets croissants, cakes, rolls, confectionery, jams, potato chips and extruded snacks in different locations across the world. Chipita, founded in 1973, has a strong international presence with 11 manufacturing units in Bulgaria, Greece, Poland, Romania, Russia and Turkey, and an additional seven factories are operating through strategic partnerships in Egypt, Mexico and Saudi Arabia. The unit in Sanand will be the company’s 19th unit world-wide.
