Kishore Biyani Plans Food Processing Park in West Bengal

Kishore Biyani is planning to build a food processing park in Kharagpur, West Bengal investing around Rs 600 crore, said Amit Mitra, the industry and commerce minister  of the state speaking on the sidelines of an event organised by Chamber of Commerce.
According to a leading daily, the food park will come up at Vidyasagar Industrial Park spread across 60 acres.

Kishore Biyani’s Group owning Big Bazaar retail chain will invest Rs 150 crore while the remaining Rs 450 crore will be mobilised from other investors, stated Mitra. He further added that there will be collection points across West Bengal in order to collect the fresh farm produce for the planned unit.

The project is likely to benefit nearly 1.35 lakh farmers and generate employment for around 15,000 people.
