Kiehl’s, a New York-based skincare company has opened its first store in Kolkata, eighth in India, at Quest mall. Spread across 582 sq. ft., the outlet follows the global format featuring the celebrated brand mascot Bones, a consultation table for customers to sit down and receive a detailed skincare consultation from the Kiehl’s Customer Representatives, vintage chandeliers, neon lights, characteristic New York City imagery, brick walls and Kiehl’s products for the face, hair, body, men and babies.
Kiehl’s entered India in November 2010 with one store in the capital, New Delhi. Receiving a good response from customers, the brand opened more stores and after 3.5 years it is now present in Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata with eight stores.
Speaking the occasion, Anurag Tyagi, Brand Manager, Kiehl’s India, said: “At Kiehl’s, it is always our attempt to be present where our customers are. Over the last 3 years we have been seeing significant demand for Kiehl’s from customers from Kolkata who have been shopping with us from our stores in other cities such as Delhi & Mumbai. We are, therefore, thrilled to be introducing Kiehl’s to our Kolkata customers with a store in their own city.”
Kiehl’s was founded as a European-style pharmacy in 1851.
