The renowned kiwifruit brand, Zespri has introudced two kiwi varities in the Indian market, SunGold and Green kiwifruit. Zespri Green kiwifruit has a tangy flavour and it is oval-shaped with brown, fuzzy skin and bright green flesh. It is claimed to contain twice the amount of vitamin C of an orange, 10 percent daily value (DV) of vitamin E per 148 gm serving and 4 gm of fibre per serving.
The SunGold variant has a sweet taste and full of vitality, this juicy golden-fleshed kiwifruit has smooth, hairless skin, wand bronze in colour. The brand claims it contains thrice the amount of vitamin C of an orange and juicier than a mango, 15 percent DV of vitamin E per 150 gm serving and 2 gm of fibre per serving. Zespri kiwifruit is also high in trace minerals and is naturally low in sodium, fat and has a low GI (Glycaemic Index) of 38.
Consumers can blend it into their favorite drink, slice it over dessert, toss it into a salad, or eat both the variants together, as a kiwi sald. It is the perfect healthy snack when you feel like munching and a versatile mealtime option for the entire family. Zespri Green kiwifruit is priced at Rs 30 per piece and SunGold, is priced at Rs 40 piece. These kiwi variants are available at the local supermarkets, between May and October months.
