Must Read

The FW 2014-15 season is mostly engrossed with hip-and-happening global sports events like Sochi and upcoming World Cup Soccer tournaments. Check out what’s going to make a rage in the forthcoming season!

It is going to be a ‘mash-up’ season. The FW 2014-15 season is mostly engrossed with hip-and-happening global sports event like Sochi and upcoming World Cup Soccer tournaments. For this reason, designer houses and brands are going to present an array of sports inspired clothing line just as Givenchy and Jeremy Scott’s collection.

Apart from that, we are going to see the rise of modern free-spirited warrior celebration with the mix of vintage luxury, hint of romance, out-of-the bed look, folklores, artsy, unusual embellishment and biogenic consciousness. The Chic collections with glitters (as in Tom Ford) and jersey numerical (as in Addidas Jeremy Scott and Tom ford) as well as ‘tracksuit’ inspired trousers (as in Calvin Klein and Givenchy) denote sports  fashionability in runway.

Metallic flavour is seen in trousers (Calvin Klein and Jeremy Scott) and in dresses to add glamour. Trend this season will also engulf metallic finished trousers and jackets for men and shift dresses for women; and puffed up textures and print with 3D effects. Men’s trousers will shift towards print which is a celebration of individualism.

Pajama fashion is in vogue for both genders. In this FW ‘2014- 15, there will be a flood of geometric patterns along with resurgence of Parka jackets, soft bombers, light weight long coats, velvet, fringes and tartan checks. Major colour will be fifty shades including grey and blue, mirror silver, blood red, nudes, blush peach, fluorescent purple, etc.

CASUAL WEAR TREND DIRECTION

Athletic Chic

Chic collections with glitters (Tom Ford) and jersey numerical (Addidas Jeremy Scott and Tom ford) as well as ‘tracksuit’ inspired trousers (Calvin Klein and Givenchy) denote sports fashionability in runway. Metallic flavour is seen in trousers (like Calvin Klein and Jeremy Scott) and in dresses to add glamour.

Geometric Consciousness

Mind and life is running parallel for long but now want find their own way again. This phenomenon gave birth to geometric consciousness. From Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith,  Kenzo to Givenchy there is a wide rage of geometric patterns which are going to rule this season.

Tartan Checks and plaids

Tartan checksand plaids are in this fall-winter. This country pattern will get a make-over as rock chic look. For menswear it can be checked trouser or informal jackets (Mr Gentleman). For womenswear there will be variation as in Valentinos maxi dress or as in Vera Wang’s black chic check skirt.

Pyjama Sporty

Silk, satin, cotton, metallic, quilted or textured pajamas are going to make a trademark this season. Yes, there is a masculine flavour with a dash of metallic glam. The out-of-the-bed or hoopster look celebrates the athletic spirit in life.

Embellishment

This season, it will be a lot of puffed up surfacing, leather cutting laces, metallic foils, quilting and jewels in womenswear. Metallic foiled jacket as in Chanel, Balmein warrior look, Andrew GN’s purple embossed skirt and Vera Wang’s metallic bug embellishment are noteworthy. For menswear, embellishment is going to take place in the form of puffed up 3D patterned knitting, quilting, metallic foiling, meshing (Givenchy) appliqué in parkas (John Galliano) and unexpected surfacing (Christopher Kane).

Lux Retro

Retro is still on but this time it will be all luxury. Velvet, faux far, feathers, soft fringes will denote that subtle romanticism and indulgence of senses, both in men and women.

Print-a-talk

This season will exhibit an array of folkloric-country prints (Paul Smith long coat and shirt), abstract line prints, artsy print (Burberry Prorsum), biogenic prints, arctic prints (Nautica), experimental 3D effect prints (Christopher Kane) and resurgence of hounds tooth print. The new design in this season is printed and patterned trousers for men.

AC TIVE WEAR TREND DIRECTION

Style Tech

FW ‘2014-15 will see technologically rich stylised activewear collection for both men and women. The constant push to look fashionable during workouts and other sports activities has yielded this kind of trend which Ingene Insights has coined as ‘Style-Tech’ trend.

The brands are targeting their customers with fashionable activewear with comfort as the intrinsic part and hence invention and mixing of new materials have emerged as a main player this season. The fabrics or materials will be revolutionary such as comfortable, soft to touch and durable, retaining its shape and resisting chlorine ten times more than  conventional fabrics.

For example, the textile Evanesce by Koral. It has moisture managing, body smoothing compression fiber built to wick away perspiration and inhibit unpleasant odours. The other design factors which are going to rock this season are abstract blurred prints, flower motifs and arctic motifs. The attention to detailing, partly quilted as design element, luminous shine and discreet hardware will bring something new to the activewear trend.
