Metro Cash and Carry Marks 50th Anniversary with ‘Metro Community Stars’

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its operations internationally, Metro Cash and Carry has launched the Metro Community Stars Awards 2014 to recognise independent entrepreneurs who have nurtured creative ideas efficiently and profitably, and are serving as an inspiration to their community.

The contest commenced on 01 of May and would conclude on June 30, 2014.  For selecting the winners, the company would invite votes for the most aspiring story shared by the entrepreneurs, after which a special jury will decide the final three winners.

Rajeev Bakshi, Managing Director, Metro Cash and Carry India, expressed his confidence that this initiative from Metro would underscore the company’s commitment to help small businesses grow and flourish.

He said, “The Metro Community Stars Awards 2014 will be a platform for us to champion the cause of independent businesses, and salute their entrepreneurial acumen and spirit. This is our way of deepening the relationships of trust and reliability that we have built within the business community, and contributing to their prosperity.”

The top three applications would be selected by a prominent jury and win prizes amounting to Rs 1,00,000; Rs 50,000; and Rs 25,000 respectively, in July 2014.
