Shoppers Stop, India’s leading fashion retailer pronounced Salil Nair as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective from March 01, 2014. He has been elevated from his current position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his new role as chief executive, Nair will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the company’s strategy, store operations, technological innovation, and more.

Nair has been with Shoppers Stop for over 19 years. His journey in the company started with store operations, and progressed into the buying and merchandising team. Subsequently, he became chief operating officer and significantly contributed to its growth with keen focus on customer service, strong product assortment and systematic operating procedures, etc. With over 25 years of experience in the retail sector, prior to joining Shoppers Stop, he has worked with leading brands such as Carona Limited and Glaxo India Limited.
