Lisa Munlua’s association with Inglot started in 2008 when she joined the brand to assist Training Programs. During this span she has not only developed her make-up artistry skills that vary from light make-up to avant garde concepts, but also raised as Senior Make-up artist, Inglot, India. Vandana Rana asks Munlua about latest make-up trends for the season.
What make-up trends are popular this SS’14?
This season silky matte look is in. We will see sun-kissed look with fresh lip colours. Make-up is also closely related to the fashion colours. In spring earthy, baked cool colours such as pale violet, thistle, orchids, olive, bottle green and cool blues are matching the clothing line of the season. Also, pastel shades like pink, lime greens, et cetera are also on the top.
Tell us about the evening and day make-up look for the season.
The most popular day look for the season is silky-smooth matte skin with soft touch of bronze and pink lips. For an evening, one can go for smokey look using bottle green, cool blue hues or a coloured winged liner
What make-up colours compliment the Indian skin tone?
Make-up colours vary region to region, however, we have warm skin tone and earthy shades with a hint of orange compliment the Indian skin tone.
For eye make-up dark cool colours like burgundy, midnight blue and purple look good. If one wants to pick among warm colour palette then, gold, brown, burnt orange are the options. Choose dark pink tints, shades of orange and plum as lip colours. Use apricot and earthy pink as blusher to highlight cheeks.
Which is the most quirky make-up look you have ever created?
It was during the launch of our Color Play Collection and I used blue, green lip colours with the same shade of eyeliner and eyelashes.
Tell us about the SS’14 collection from Inglot.
We have recently launched Berry Collection that boasts lipstick and nail enamel in different hues of dark berry colours. Another offering for the season is Hd Illuminizing Loose Powder to have flawless and spotless make-up look. It is also used for filming hi-definition shoots.
We have launched new colours in kohl pencil, midnight blue, plum and deep brown that can be used as coloured liner. It is waterproof and smudge-proof formula.
What is your favourite make-up product and why
I love everything about make-up, it’s difficult to point out what is my favourite make-up product as favourite colours change as per the season. But my most used make-up products are loose powder, mascara, blush, lipstick mostly in the shades of red and coral.
What is your favourite make-up accessory and why?
My make-up brushes and Inglot make-up wipes are my favourite. I cannot do without them, they are my best friends.
