Originally named after the sacred place on the lake of the indigenous aboriginal Thao tribe and once the favourite summer getaway of President Chiang Kai Shek, the hotel dates back to 1901 and is a sanctuary of quiet welcome and natural elegance. The Lalu Spa features four dual-purpose dry and wet double suites and four single suites that allows couples to enjoy romantic spa services together. Its architecture was done by Kerry Hill.

When you enter the spa area, friendly attendants will guide you to the reception area. You may choose your spa treatment and one of the four essential oils: Harmony, Passion, Purity or Balance. The ‘Tiger Wind’ treatment soothes the emotions, reenergises the mind and body, and is most popular among men. The ‘Joyful Expression’ treatment includes an herbal steam bath, followed by a soothing massage with fragrant essential oil and is a hit with women.
Afterwards, take a steam bath, relax in the bathtub, and pamper your mind and body in the tender comfort of your spa suite, looking out at the lake and enjoying specially prepared drinks and healthy snacks.
Traditional Asian and specialty Western massages are featured along with rejuvenating body scrubs, only available at The Lalu Spa such as, Ginger and Green Tea, Silk Scrub and Rice Bran and Rice Wine.
The leisure centre features hot, warm and icy whirlpools, essence steam rooms, dry Swedish sauna, Japanese bathing and warming fireplaces overlooking the spectacular Sun
Moon Lake.
