    Manyavar Receives Award for The Most Outstanding Performance in Retail Business in Eastern India

    The best performing companies and individuals of the East Indian retail industry were honoured and appreciated for their achievements through the Images East India Retail Awards today. Among the host of celebrities present at the show, the evening was made even more special with the presence of renowned anchors Mir Afsar Ali and Pamela Bhutoria and an enthralling performance by Somchanda Bhattacharya.

    The award is a part of East India Retail Summit 2013 which was inaugurated earlier in the presence of , CMD, Ambuja Neotia Group, Amit Ladsaria, Co Founder & Director, Turtle and Sushil Mohta, MD, Merlin Group. With the ever growing east Indian retail industry EIRS was conceived to present an opportunity to the small, medium and large retailers to exchange their ideas, debate business issues and felicitate the achievers who were contributing in making East India ‘Accelerating and Shaping the future of East India Retail’, which is this year’s theme.

    The evening began with East India Brand Show, a fashion show which featured leading fashion brands like Hyphen, Birla Cellulose, Roughells, Moustache,Turtle, Hoffmen, Allensolly Junior and other fashion brands did
    not just show case the latest trends but also conveyed to the audience their fashion philosophy.

    The awards selection process followed global standards of performance assessment. Leading and aspiring retailers were invited to send in self-nomination forms, which included information in the areas of turnover and profitability, retail expanse, and expansion, customer connect and innovative & effective initiatives in marketing and launching new concepts. This polling process was seamlessly choreographed by process partner Iris Retail Intelligence.

    Prominent professionals from leading retail brands, and retail real estate firms were invited to rate various retailers on the basis of their viewpoints. Based on these rankings, a second phase of the selection involved matching votes against actual performance statistics. Once the alignment was completed, nominees were finalised on the basis of a 360 degree approach that included quantitative and qualitative performance.
