Multi-designer retail store Karmik has opened two outlets in Lahore and Amritsar in an effort to bring together once twin cities, Lahore and Amritsar, in a common yarn of fashion. The retail stores offer a wide range of ethnic wear from sari to salwar kameez and tunics. Karmik retails collections from Indian designers like Anamika Khanna, Falguni & Shane Peacock, JJ Valaya, Kavita Bhartiya, Neeta Lulla, Ranna Gill, Rina Dhaka, Ritu Beri. Rocky S, Rohit Bal and Shantanu & Nikhil.
Karmik claims to be the first Indian multi-designer retail outlet that has opened in Lahore and also has plans to be present in the small cities like Karachi and Islamabad over the next three years. Pradeep Hirani founder of Karmik shared the expansion plans of the brand: “Following the aggressive expansion strategies the plan now is to take Karmik to other neighboring countries like Nepal and Bangladesh, and to include a few Pakistani and Dhaka designers to our repertoire.”
Karmik launched during Lakme Fashion Week 2012 and has 10 stores in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Chennai. The retail fashion brand has expansion plans of 12 more stores in immediate pipeline and committed to achieve 60 Point of Sales by 2015. Fashion designer Rohit Bal explained the brand’s ideology: “As a concept Karmik is brand new and innovative as first time so many designers are coming under one roof. Its Indian prêt and the price points are incredible, for the first time anyone can go buy a designer label for an average price of $ 100.”
