Traditional weaves created a stir on the Indian Textile Day. Daniel Syiem revealed the textiles of the North East with hand-woven organic fabrics as did Gaurang Shah’s experiments with Patan Patola and both were fabulous. The weaves from Manipur were on top of the fashion charts after Krishna Mehta unveiled her collection. Rahul Mishra’s Sunehri bridal line with hand-woven fabrics from Central India was simply magical. Ritu Kumar used the beautiful fabrics of Bhutan for her western line, Shyamal and Bhumika had heavily embellished textiles. Soumitra Mondal revived the beauty of Bengal textiles and Vivek Kumar used khadi and handloom for his fusion gowns.
