God is in the detail. Shrugs, jackets and capes are the trend this season. Straight and slim fits are in vogue with various washes in denims, different fabrics, embellishments, sequins, etcetera. The designers set the stage blazing at the last Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week by complementing the look of their collection with a delicious variety of the second layer!
Namrata Joshipura set the ramp on fire with models in diaphanous dresses and skirts along with sequinned embellishments in grids and rhomboid patterned lapel jackets. Ritu Kumar’s grand finale used theatrical capes while Nachiket Barve’s capelets captivated the spectators just as Rahul Mishra’s more embroidered version. Dev R Nil combined the westernwear with printed vests in different hues. Designer Jenjum Gadi combined hand woven designs, sequins and machine embroidery on jackets that complemented his ethnicwear line. With other designers including Sulakshana Monga, Aneeth Arora and Divyam Mehta flaunting the second layer in their respective lines, there was enough variety and style to mesmerise the audience.
