Skipper Furnishings enters Chennai

Kolkata-based home furnishing brand, Skipper Furnishings, has recently opened its first outlet in Chennai at Mylapore. Spread over an area of 3,500 sq.ft., the store stocks products such as curtains, upholstery, wallpaper, mattresses, wooden flooring, bed and bath products, drapery rods and channels, blinds, and carpets.

Talking about the Chennai market,Tanay Agarwal, Director, Skipper Furnishings, said: ” We expect to give a new dimension to the way homes in Chennai are decorated. We soon expect to make our presence felt in Chennai and hope it will prove out to be a lucrative market for us.”

Speaking about the future expansion plans, Agarwal, said: “We will expand through franchisees, shop-in-shop, and ecommerce model. Skipper has a strong presence in the south and Eastern India. We plan to further strengthen our base in these regions and expand to other cities. The company is also launching India’s first portal for made-to-measure curtains. We also have plans to tie up with large format furniture stores for a shop-in-shop.”

Skipper Furnishings plans to open a minimum of 15 stores in the current fiscal.
