Reliance Brands partners with US-based Stuart Weitzman

Reliance Brands, a part of Reliance Industries, has entered a franchise agreement with US-based Stuart Weitzman, a designer footwear brand. The collection will be available in India by the first quarter of 2013 at stores in Delhi and Mumbai.

Commenting on the partnership, Darshan Mehta, President and CEO, Reliance Brands, said: “Having the ability to leverage the global strength of the Stuart Weitzman brand and building a larger presence for them in India is a great opportunity. We are very excited about the association which promises to pioneer a global trend across the region.”

Stuart Weitzman said that the partnership with Reliance was a part of the brand’s global expansion strategy. He said that the brand sees India as one of the most important long-term markets in the world.

The price range of the footwear is expected to be between Rs 25,000 and Rs 75,000. Stuart Weitzman claims to produce over 600 styles a year.

The international retailer operates 40 retail stores across the United States, including New York, Beverly Hills, Chicago, Boston, and Las Vegas. It also has 42 international stores and is sold in over 70 countries.

Reliance Brands launches and builds international and domestic brand equity in the premium to luxury segment across apparel, footwear, and lifestyle business.
