The Images Shopping Centre Awards 2012, are honours not based on statistics alone; they also acknowledge the virtues of great partnerships between centre owners and tenants, mall management, mutually profitable footfall strategies and innovative mall marketing, among other things.

National retailers with widespread presence in malls across the country, along with independent analysts and IPCs who have been key observers of the developments in this industry, were invited to participate in the IMAGES SHOPPING CENTRE AWARDS 2012 decision-making process. India’s leading retailers involved their property heads, location specialists, brand managers, and entire teams in responding to questionnaires on the shopping centre industry in India. They voted and analysed centres that were present in, as well as centres they would like to be present in. Therefore, this process wasn’t a mere ranking exercise – there was a series of debates, arguments, and cross questioning involved to get to the final choices.

Following entries by shopping centres and performance analysis, a comprehensive analysis sheet reflecting the key features and strengths of all the finalists was shared with an eminent jury comprising, Amit Bagaria, Chairman, ASIPAC; Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & MD, CBRE South Asia Pvt. Ltd.; Anuj Puri, Chairman and Country Head, Jones Lang LaSalle; Jaideep Wahi, Director – Retail Services, India, Cushman & Wakefield; Sunil Biyani, Director, Internal Business, Future Group; and Amitabh Taneja, Chairman and Managing Director, IMAGES Group who put their votes in to zoom in on the awardees.
