K10 Group appoints Beyond Squarefeet to venture into mall biz

K10 Group has appointed mall advisory body Beyond Squarefeet to venture into mall business as it plans to open its first shopping mall called K10 Mall in Jalna, Aurangabad. Spread over 2,25,000 sq.ft, the mixed-use project will spread over four levels of retail along with a three-star business hotel.

Beyond Squarefeet will conceptualise, plan, market, and lease the mall. The mall will have a 30-screen multiplex, 15-cuisine food court, single floor hypermarket, family entertainment centre spread across GLA of 8,000 sq.ft., fine dining, restaurants, QSRs, cafes, and multi-level car parking.

Speaking on the occasion, Ketan Shah, Chairman, K10 Group, said: “It has been our endeavour to fulfil the needs of the town by creating projects which touch the lifestyle of Jalnaites. K10 Mall is one such project for us and I am sure this project will add a lot of glamour to the locals and also put Jalna on the ‘Map of Malls’.”

Commenting on the association, Susil Dungarwal, Chief Mall Mechanic, Beyond Squarefeet said that the company is proud to be associated with K10 Mall in Jalna. “Our research shows that 78 percent of the upcoming malls in India today are in non-metro towns, clearly defining the shift,” he added.

According to the company officials, the project will also have a department store, electronics store, and a mix of fashion brands and is expected to generate employment for over 1,000 people.

Established in 1992, K10 Group is into diversified businesses such as tobacco, pan masala, construction, trading, food products, and exports. The group runs manufacturing plants spread across Delhi, Ahmedabad, Nizamabad, and Jalna. It has a network of over 350 distributors.

Beyond Squarefeet provides management, conceptualisation, positioning, marketing, leasing, and re-orientation facility for malls. According to the company officials, Beyond Squarefeet has managed mall development and operations of more than 30 million sq.ft. (3 crore sq.ft.) in India. Some of the current projects of the company include Neptune Magnet Mall (Mumbai), Lonavala Square (Lonavala), Gokulam Galleria (Kerala), LULU International Shopping Mall (Kerala), K Mall (Kerala), CG Malls, and CG Retail across Nepal.
